This privacy policy describes how We collect and use the personal information you provide on the Website. It also describes the choices available to you regarding Our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.
+**1.** **Core Principles**
+The TRUSTe program covers only information that is collected through this Website, www.squarespace.com. The TRUSTe program does not cover information that may be collected through Our mobile application.
+When it comes to your personal information we believe in transparency, not surprises. So before we get into the details, we want to share with you a few of our core privacy principles. First, we don't sell your personal information to anyone. It's just not the type of business we're in. Second, we don't ask for your personal information unless we need it to provide or improve the Services for you. +**2.** **Collection**
+### 1\. INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE
+When you use the Services, we collect the following information, and use it only as described below:
+**Registration**
+**2.1. Account Information.** This may include your name, address, email address and phone number. We use this information in the ways you would expect, such as to set up your Account or contact you.
+The Squarespace Service requires a login in order to provide you with a personalized account. During Our account registration process, We will collect an email address, your first and last name, and a password from you. You must provide all of this information in order to obtain an account. After completing Our registration form, you will receive a welcome email describing your new Squarespace account, and how to access that account. You may, at your option, also store your social media credentials as part of your account with Our Service.
+**2.2. Third Party Account Information.** If you use Third Party Services, such as social media or photo-sharing services, you may provide us with your Third Party Services account information, such as your username (note that we don't store any passwords you use to access Third Party Services). We transmit, and may store, such account information, only as needed to provide the Services, and only in accordance with the terms and policies of the Third Party Services.
+**Communications with Squarespace**
+**2.3. Payment Information.** When you initially provide or update your payment information, we transmit it via an encrypted connection to our Payment Processor, Stripe. Stripe uses and processes your payment information in accordance with [Stripe's Privacy Policy](https://stripe.com/privacy/). We don't store your payment information, other than your zip code and country, which we require for billing and to comply with tax and other government regulations.
+We use third party service providers to assist Us in managing and administering communications and emails sent to Us through the Website and through some Squarespace managed sites. Any personal information disclosed through such communications will be governed by such third party vendors' privacy policies.
+**2.4. Communications With Us.** When you send us emails or other communications, such as customer support inquiries, we maintain those communications and their contents so that we can resolve your inquiries or otherwise assist you.
+**Account Subscriptions**
+**2.5. Public Comments On The Services.** We maintain any comments, contributions to discussions or messages submitted to users of the Services, in order to provide the Services.
+If you choose to continue service with Squarespace via a paid account, Squarespace will collect the following personal information from you: credit card number, credit card expiration date, and zip code, and keep this information on file in Our secure server in order to process your recurring invoices. You may, at your option, also provide your company name, full billing address and phone number. This information is used to verify credit card authenticity, and process payments as per your applicable service agreement. Upon discontinuation of Squarespace service, your credit card information will be destroyed on Our billing system. If We are unable to process your subscription for a given month, this information, along with your account information, may be used to contact you.
+**2.6. Files You Provide Us.** When you use the Services, we store, process and transmit your User Content (such as your photos) and information related to your User Content (such as location tags in photos). We process and store such files and information in order to provide the Services, as described in our [Terms of Service](https://www.squarespace.com/terms-of-service/).
+**Third Party Payment Processors**
+**2.7. Usage Information.** This includes information about your activity on and interaction with the Services, such as your IP address, your device or browser type, the webpage you visited before coming to our sites and identifiers associated with your devices. This information enables us to analyze how the Services are being accessed and used, and to track performance of the Services.
+Squarespace uses third party payment processors to assist it in processing your personally identifiable payment information securely. Such third party processors' use of your personal information is governed by their respective privacy policies which may or may not contain privacy protections as protective as this privacy policy. Payments are currently processed and managed using the third party vendors below. We will inform you which payment processors are used when processing your payments.
+**2.8. Location Information.** Your devices (depending on your settings) may transmit location information to the Services. We use this information to customize, improve and protect the Services. For example, we may use your location information to determine local language preferences, or to geotag a post.

+**3.** **Sharing**
+Users hosting websites with Squarespace are given tools that may ask you to optionally enter your email address when making comments on their website, or contacting them through their website. Since users on Squarespace can manipulate the HTML code on their site directly, there are opportunities available for a malicious user to inject code that would log your information before it reaches Our system. In addition, once in Our system, website owners will have the opportunity to review and modify any information entered into their website. Since We do not have full control over how members run their individual sites, this privacy policy does not apply to any hosted Squarespace website that you do not own. You should check that you trust the owner of a particular website before submitting personal information on that site.
+When you use the Services, we may share your information only as described below:
+Squarespace uses the services of Peer1 Hosting and Equinix. Personal information hosted by or through Squarespace is subject to their privacy policies which may or may not contain terms as protective as this privacy policy. Their privacy policies are available on their respective websites.
+**3.1. Third Parties You Authorize.** You can give third parties access to your and your End Users' information on the Services. For example, you may wish to integrate Your Sites with a third party newsletter service that requires access to the email addresses you collect from your End Users, in order for that newsletter service to send emails on your behalf and at your direction. Just remember that such third party's use of this information will be governed by the terms and privacy policies of the third party.
+**Server Logs**
+**3.2.** **Following The Law.** We may disclose your information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, protect our rights or prevent fraud or abuse of Squarespace or our users. When we receive law enforcement or national security requests for information, we strongly believe in privacy and transparency. We scrutinize such requests carefully and challenge vague, overbroad or otherwise unlawful requests. And when legally permitted, we provide our users with notice that their information is being requested. This notice is provided so that you have the opportunity to challenge such requests.
+When accessing web pages on the Website, Squarespace may log your IP address, access URL, time of access, geographic location, browser type, and referral URL in order to provide Us with internal information regarding site traffic statistics. This information may also be used to identify users who are using the service for spam or other activity that is deemed in conflict with Our Terms of Service. Otherwise, this information is used in the aggregate, and is never linked back to any personal information.
+**3.3. Others Working For Squarespace.** Squarespace uses certain trusted third parties to help us provide, improve, promote and protect the Services. For example, we may use third parties to help us provide customer support, manage our ads on other sites or assist with data storage. These third parties may access, process or store your information to perform tasks only for the purposes we've authorized, and we require them to provide at least the same level of protection for your information as described in this Privacy Policy. We also may share with third parties aggregated or anonymized information that does not directly identify you.
+**Comments and User Content Posted to the Website**
+**3.4. Business Transfers.** If we're involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal.

Payment information is transmitted using HTTPS encryption, and we maintain a PCI DSS certification.
+The Website provides users the opportunity to interact and post content through various social media sites. Your interactions with such tools, and any information you provide in connection with these interactions are publicly viewable outside of the Website domain. Each social media site has its own privacy policies, that may be more or less protective than this Policy. If you do not wish for this information to be disclosed, then you should not use these tools. We are not responsible for information you choose to post with such tools.
+**5.** **Retention**
+Our site also includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook button, and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive miniprograms that run on Our site. +Information that you submit through the Services may be transferred to countries other than where you live (for example, to our servers in the US). +Squarespace collects the aforementioned personal information in order to provide you with a service that allows you to maintain an online presence. Various features in Our Website management system will, at your discretion, display your name, or adjust the date and time of events based on your locale. The Squarespace Website Manager interface will always give you an option before any piece of your personal information is presented on your website, and situations where information will be published is made clear in various spots in the interface
+To modify or delete the personal information you have provided to us, simply log into the Services and update your profile. We may retain certain information as required by law or for necessary business purposes. On request, we'll provide you with a copy of your personal information that we maintain. This request may be subject to a fee not exceeding the prescribed fee permitted by law.

+**8.** **Communications**
+Squarespace also uses information collected through its Service to send out notifications regarding service related issues (such as maintenance periods, billing problems, account expirations, and other items that may impact service). We do not send contact information unless the matter is deemed urgent, and most communication will occur through your Squarespace Website Manager interface. We also may use and disclose your information to Our third party service providers in order to send you messages regarding new services or other products from Squarespace. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to Us.
+We may periodically email you service-related announcements. We'll also send you emails related to your transactions. We may also send you marketing or promotional communications, but you can opt out of receiving subsequent marketing or promotional communications by clicking the link marked unsubscribe (or a similar phrasing) that's included in those communications.
+Information collected through Our service logs is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding Website traffic. This statistical information is not otherwise aggregated in such a way that would identify any particular user of the system.
+**9.** **End User Information**
+Squarespace, Inc. is the sole owner of information collected on http://www.squarespace.com/. Your information is never shared, leased or given to any third parties in ways other than disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
+**9.1. Collection And Use Of End User Information.** You may use the Services to create or publish Your Sites, and Your Sites may have End Users. We may collect, use or delete the same types of information described in Section 2, above, from your End Users, on your behalf and at your direction, and we treat such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We do this in order to enable you to use the Services, and to provide, improve and protect the Services. For example, during checkout you may ask your End Users to provide name, address, email address and payment information so that you can complete their orders.
+### 3\. INFORMATION SECURITY
+**9.2. Your Relationship With End Users.** You can collect, use or delete your End Users' information at any time. However, you're solely responsible for complying with any laws and regulations that apply to your End Users' information, including without limitation the posting of your own privacy policy. We're not liable for your relationship with your End Users, and we won't provide you with any legal advice regarding such matters.
+We store all user information in secure databases protected via a variety of industrystandard access controls. Secure passwords, SSL encryption, diskbased encryption, firewalls, and other measures are in place to help Us protect your data. However, no company, including Squarespace, can fully eliminate security risks associated with the transmission of personal information through online transactions, and you do so at your own risk.

End User Payment Information.** Your End Users' payment information may be processed via third party eCommerce Payment Processors with which you integrate your Account, in accordance with such eCommerce Payment Processors' terms and policies. We transmit your End Users' complete payment information when they initially provide or update it, only so that we can pass it along to the eCommerce Payment Processors you agree to use. We don't collect or store your End Users' payment information.

+**9.4. A Message To The End Users.** Hello, End User! We hope you [create your own site](https://www.squarespace.com/) on Squarespace some day! However, Squarespace has no direct relationship with you. If you'd like to make any requests regarding your personal information, please contact the owner of the site you've visited or used, as they control your data. They may then submit any such information requests to us, and we'll respond to them. We retain your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
+### 4\. ACCESS TO PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

+**Changing Information**
+**10.1. Compliance.** Squarespace complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union to the United States ("EU Personal Data"). +All information that Squarespace stores related to your account, including any subscription billing information, is accessible through your Squarespace Website Manager interface. You may use this interface to correct, update or delete your information at any time, and We encourage you to keep this information up to date so that your customer service requests and billing processes operate efficiently. We will respond to your request to access within 5 business days.
+**10.2. Accountability.** Our accountability for EU Personal Data we receive under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfer to a third party is described in the Privacy Shield Principles. In particular, we may use third parties to process data on our behalf as described in this Privacy Policy, and we remain liable if they do so in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles and we're responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
+**Removing Information**

In the event your concern still isn't addressed by JAMS, you may be entitled to a binding arbitration under the Privacy Shield Principles. For purposes of enforcing compliance with the Privacy Shield, Squarespace is subject to the investigatory and enforcement authority of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
+To remove your personal information from Our system, submit your account for deactivation. Your personal information will be removed immediately, though your actual login name will remain reserved on Our system until recollection. If you wish to only remove your billing subscription information, cancel your paid account. Both of these removals can be accessed
